So Happy It's Friday

I woke up in the BEST MOOD THIS MORNING!  Maybe because it's Friday.  Maybe because the sun is shining brightly through my studio windows (after days of pouring rain).  Not sure exactly.  But why question these things right?  My grandmother use to tell me when I'd question her why something blissful would suddenly be occurring in my life, "Honey, don't try and reason with Heaven, they've simply decided today's YOUR TURN."

Okay, so since I'm in such a wonderful mood, I decided to share a canvas dating back 3 years ago with ya'll.  Why you may ask?  Because I want to demonstrate how far my style has progressed since then.  I went through all the phases any young artist goes through.  You have your portrait phase.  Your landscaped phase.  Your floral phase.  Y'all get what I'm saying, right?   We experiment until we find what it is that suits our spirit's best.

Anyway,  the above painting was in my Seascape Phase.  This piece actually hung in my guest room for awhile.  It's 40X40 (huge) and it was done in partial Oil (clouds and skyline) and Acrylic (everything else).

I was shifting through my Lincoln Room last night, trying to sort through all the mess, trying to decide what to keep and what to get rid of, in an effort to early Spring Clean..and there she was.  This pitiful landscape I was once so proud of.  It's like finding an old 80's outfit in the back of your closet that you once thought you looked great in.

Closing for today.  Hope each that have dropped by today, have a HAPPY Friday.  I hope by sharing this wonderful old piece, that you get a better feel for how hard I've been working as an artist.  A style isn't developed over night, and I'm still searching every day to get mine Just Right.

Blessings, Love and Friday Sunshine to you all, Terri

what a great post! i think the painting is really good, but so like your style better now! how fun for you to have that to look back on. since i'm a new artist i will have to hold on to a few of my pieces and compare them in the years to come.
we haven't had sunshine for a week. keep your fingers crossed that i get some over the weekend!

Oh Teri Sweetie...
I adore this picture. It appears that God himself is shining down on this beautiful day, moment and time. I love it. It may look 80(ish) to you, but to me it says heaven. How gorgeous it is.

I adore what you paint today also, but this is what makes you so outstanding. You can paint such a diverse group of artwork. You can switch back and forth sweetie. I adore it. I love looking at every piece of artwork that you share.

Someday maybe?? I will try to paint what I see in my head.

Have a beautiful Friday sweetie. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Wow Terri, I though that landscape was beautiful! Shows how much I know. But then again, I'm a huge fan, so I think I'd love anything you do. One of my dearest friends is an artist and she often shares those same sentiments with me about evolving as an artist. Have a wonderful weekend! We are getting that rain you just had.

Hi dear Terri,
I truly love it. Especially the sky and clouds. Do you know, the sea is my passion and your painting shows me a view I do adore so much - while before a thunderstorm...

with love,

G'day, Terri ~ I am not sure an artist EVER quits developing/redeveloping their talents ... do you? Doesn't matter, tho, your work is awesome & so enjoyable. What you see now as a 'young'un' is absolutely breathtaking to me.

Happy St. Patrick's Day ~
Have a lovely weekend.
TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon
