Sentiments Of A Southern Artist: "Blue Bird"

Whew..can't believe it's already Friday!  Haven't posted since Sunday.  Got completely off-schedule from my regular Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Friends, I should have known better.  Life always shows us who's really in charge, huh?

Took my sketchbook Monday to one of Mama's appointments and messed around with one of my favorite subjects.  Birds.  I especially favor Blue Birds..but also have an affinity for Roosters.  One day I'll do more of those colorful barnyard beauties.
Guess what sold yesterday in my Etsy Shop?  My Sweet Santos!  I sure loved her, and I must confess that with every piece I create I truly miss them when they find a new home.
A bit of My Spirit Resides Within anything I create.  Guess it's like birthing a child in a sense.  You nuture and cultivate..put yourself into your babies, watch them mature and grow, and eventually have to allow them to scoot out the door.
Bye Bye Sweet Santos!

Thanks to anyone who may have dropped by today!

G'eve sweet Terri ~ This is my favorite ever of your paintings. I love the beauty of the bird. Birds keep me totally amused & captivated ...

Santos is beautiful! & will carry memories forever for you.

Terri, you are such a beautiful artist & creator ... you capture the true essence of your subjects.

We finally got some rain last night, Thank Heaven! It has been miserable. I could hardly wait to throw open the windows for the fresh air.

Sherry is still having a really rough time, her voice is NOT improving. I call at least every other day, but today she was too bad so I'll wait a couple more so she can rest her vocal cords. Other issues have hence arisen also. She so worries me to no end.

I hope you are fine, Mother is well ... hugs to my special sweet ladies.

Have a wonderful PS summer weekend!
TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon

Terri, congratulations on the sale! I totally understand what you mean about your "babies" tho. Selling photos is easy, because you can always print another, but the first time I sold a mixed-media piece I really had mixed emotions! Love the birds - what a great way to occupy your time while waiting for appointments. I am also a bird-lover - in fact my next post is going to feature them. Happy weekend, sweet Teri!!

Oh, I love the bluebird painting!

I came by to visit because I realized I hadn't "seen" you in a while. I read the post above mine and I wonder if I'm also not getting notices anymore, or if I just missed them. Hmm...I'll be watching closely to see.
