Sentiments Of A Southern Artist: "Bows & Pink Roses"

Monday is laundry day here in Bonaire.  Stacks of the previous week's clothing piled so high I figure it'll take all day to get through it all.

That's what happens when you get sidetracked playing too long in the Studio.  :))  Dust Bunnies, Spotty Floors, Piles of Laundry..it all multiplies.  But ya know..all that matters sometimes is just having Fun.

And that's precisely what I had making this newest addition to my glasswork series.  FUN!  Maybe I went a bit over the top..but I just couldn't help myself.

My favorite part of this design is the Bow directly on top.  I do love me some bows now..and I also love Floral Patterns.  Maybe I lived in the Victorian Era in a previous life, I donno.  :))

I added something special to this piece that I've never used before..a Vintage Brooch.  Thought it would make a nice Focal Point.

Speaking of Vintage..take a look at this sweet print from an artist that's always been dear to my heart; Annie Benson Muller.  No other artist has ever portrayed the innocense of childhood in quite the same way.

She loved using ribbons and bows too, so perhaps I'm in good company.  Okay..I'm taking my last bite of the warm oatmeal I've been savoring in between writing this and waiting for the washing machine buzzer to sound.

Today while folding clothes and scrubbing floors, I'll be brainstorming new ideas for future glassworks.  Even with a mop in my hands, I'm never far from my art.

Love & Sunshine To All Who May Have Dropped By Today!
