I've been enjoying some time in the kitchen lately. I lost my feel for cooking over the summer, the Georgia Heat was just too hot to think about being near the stove. But lately with the arrival of cooler weather, I'm finding my groove again.
My favorite cookbooks right now are Nigella Lawson's "Feast" and a Williams-Sonoma book on Braises and Stews. And I also keep a few of the passed-down Mississippi Recipes from my Grandmother at the ready. Nothing like my Mammaw's Magic "Lemon Pie" when I need a good walk down memory lane.
Anyhoo..last night I made a recipe out of Nigella's book for Roast Chicken. UNBELIEVABLY DEVINE! I need to tell y'all if you add some cut-up Onions and Sweet Potatoes to the cooking pan..well..it may not be Mammaw's Magic, but darn near close.
