"Birch Panels & Much Needed Time At The Easel"

So I'm At The New Blick Art Materials Store The Other Day When "Oh My Goodness" I Stumble Upon These Adorable Oval Birch Panels!  Each Are A Mere 6X8, But Sensationally Strong And Are Even Cradled In The Back To Prevent Warping.

I've Given The First Three A Crackle Affect Across Their Surfaces.  Knowing Each Will Offer It's Own Unique Flavor And Character To Whatever Composition I Place There.

This Is The First Completed Piece Entitled, "Curiosities".  Today At The Easel..Surrounded By All My Delicious Oils And The Smell Of Turpentine..I Was Home Again.  Precisely Where I Belong.

Terri this piece is lovely! Excited to see what you do with the other panels. My hubby got me some scrap pieces of birch to paint on and I really liked how the paint worked on wood versus canvas board. So much to try and learn! :)
