Working With Paper Clay

It's Not Uncommon For Artists To Struggle With Their Desire To Create.  I've Had To Really Push Myself Lately To Pull Anything Joyous Out Of My Studio.

I Haven't Even Completed The Painting I Posted Back In January.  Instead I Wanted To Try Something New.  I've Never Worked With Clay Before So I Thought "Why Not?"

I Chose Paper Clay Just Because I Don't Have A Kiln And Read That This Particular Type Can "Air Dry" Within 24 Hours.

I Didn't Have The Faintest Idea On How To Work With This Stuff So I Pulled Out An Old Doll From My Stockpile To Use As A Reference.

I'm Not Completely Unhappy With My Very First Attempt ~ But Do Realize I Need A Lit'l More Practice.

Here's Hoping Everyone's Having A Great Weekend!

Sending You All Some Love & Sunshine,

I wish, Terri, that we could work together...that you could guide me. Your fingers touch a medium and it is transformed.
The journey towards joy after heartbreak is an uphill climb, but your art will save you from despair.
You are on your way...
Your Mama is pushing you now.
Out of sight, yet closer you two will be.
Love you my friend♥♥♥

Fiddling around or just playing is sometimes good for the soul! Actually it is always good for the soul!!

Hi Terri--I'm so glad that you posted this--the desire to create can be, at times, a real struggle---but I love how you took it to your advantage and chose another path--just to shake it up a bit--this inspires me, and I'm sure others not to ignore our passion--it's always there to help us through.

Terri, is there any artistic medium that you can NOT do?? You just totally amaze me and I know that you know that your inspiration will be sneaking back up on you when the time is right....

I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing....finding the strength to continue what you love must be difficult when your heart is mending....
...but diving into something new is a wonderful start to letting yourself play a bit and take solace in your passion.

I think she turned out wonderfully and am glad you are finding more light in your days :)
